MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT

Learn to Grow Like a Pro

Ever go to a dahlia show and say "I wish I could grow flowers like this"? Until this point in the season your plants probably look much like those of the superior exhibitors.  Now is when the separation begins.  This month's educational portion of the meeting will present an easy to follow, step by step process to groom your dahlias to maximize bloom size and condition.

You'll want to show off your great blooms so I'll also show several ways to safely transport them without damage. See you there, Tom

The ADS Centennial Dahlia Show

As you know, MIDS is excited about hosting the ADS 100th Anniversary Dahlia Show in 2015. A member committee has been hard at work preparing for this event. At the August meeting we will preview a presentation about the Centennial Show.

Meeting takes place at 7:30 PM on Monday, August 4th, Winthrop Hall, Church of the Advent, 555 Advent St, Westbury, NY.
Refreshments will be served.

Dahlia Classes
Yes, you can grow beautiful dahlias. We’ll teach you how.

MIDS provides excellent classes for beginning dahlia growers. Classes are held at 7 P.M., prior to each of our meetings. The classes are called Dahlias 101. Tom Cleere, award winning dahlia grower, conducts these sessions. At each class he teaches whatever is relevant to dahlia growing during that month.
