Learning: Late Disbudding Return to Introduction
There are times when we miss a lateral that needs disbudding. The example in photo #1 shows a terminal bud with one of the side buds of almost equal length. As a matter of fact one of the side buds has developed some foliage of its own (photo 3). Now if we let these 2 mature side buds continue they will overcome the center flower and hide it from view. In addition the bud with the foliage will cover both blooms. These 2 side buds need to be removed now. This will allow our main flower bud to develop. |
